About ABQMR

ABQMR Inc. provides research services and one of a kind fabrication related to nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). We use our combined expertise of over 100 years in experimental magnetic resonance (MR) to apply NMR to unique research questions and build prototype NMR systems for specialized applications. The MR that many people are familiar with in hospitals is notoriously expensive. Our systems tend to operate at a small fraction of such costs. It is often possible to design a cost effective, custom system for a pre-defined application by using lower magnetic fields from either permanent magnets or electromagnets as opposed to high field superconducting magnets.

We specialize in unusual applications of MR including experiments in the field, spanning from applications in an agricultural field to the arctic. We have worked with:

  • low magnetic fields
  • inhomogeneous magnetic fields
  • extreme temperatures
  • high pressures
  • liquids, solids and gases
  • magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
    • spin density
    • flow
    • relaxation
  • detection of signals at very low frequency
  • detection of very small signals
  • and many moreā€¦
  • Having used MR for such unusual applications we have experience designing and building experiments from the ground up including probes, tank circuits, amplifiers, RF electronics, digital control electronics, computer interfaces, data acquisition and analysis software. Odd applications and challenging experiments are our passion. We relish the challenge of figuring out how to make new measurements and can draw on our extensive and unique resources to design, build, and execute challenging experiments.
